About Lucy
More Than Just Musical Boxes
I believe organizing isn’t about creating photo perfect spaces that few (if any!) actually live in. It’s about creating systems that work for your brain, your family, and your lived experience.

What makes me different:
- 15+ years in special education
- Neurodivergent-friendly approach
- Trauma-informed practice
- Function over perfection
- Professional teacher
Why “Waves”?
My approach:
Life isn’t linear—it comes in waves. Your organizing systems should honor that reality, not fight against it.
- Individual over Universal: What works for Instagram doesn’t necessarily work for your mind and body
- Functional over Perfect: Visually static organizing you can’t maintain isn’t sustainable or kind
- Process-Oriented: We focus on building skills and understanding so you have greater agency and control
- Trauma-Informed: Our stories manifest in our spaces and those stories matter
- Neurodivergent-Friendly: What if the system adapted to you? What if you co-created the system?

Who I Work With
You’ve tried organizing before, but it didn’t stick
because the systems weren’t individualized to how your brain actually works.
You’re excited to learn new skills
and you’re craving a different relationship to your space.
You appreciate your belongings
and you need someone to help you create loving homes for them.
You’d love to give a gift to your community
– more peaceful environments for yourself and those you share space with.
You’re dealing with life transitions
– recent retirement, becoming a new parent, or working through changes after intense life events.
You or your family members are neurodivergent
and need systems that make sense for ADHD, autism, or other learning differences.
I work with Lucy every month, and she’s been sure a huge support in keeping out home organized. Each time we finish a space, I’m in shock because I didn’t know it could look that amazing. She has a real gift for helping me make decisions and let go of things we don’t need. My husband doesn’t usually enjoy organizing, but she makes it fun and manageable for him too. She even made sessions work when my toddler was with me. Highly recommend — and she’s very affordable!

It was such a treat to have Waves Organizing work on our brewery glow-up! Lucy brought a ton of insight and new ideas to how we could better arrange things, in turn, making the work flow more efficient, and cutting cleaning time down. We were lucky to work alongside her to answer any questions and make decisions, which gave us the opportunity to see how methodically she was able to work through different areas of the taproom and storage. At times when we would feel paralyzed, she knew exactly the next step that needed to be taken.
With her deep understanding of the importance that everything has a home and is clearly labeled, it has positively affected the behavior of the entire staff. Everyone knows precisely where to put something when it gets left out. No more mystery piles being tucked away into places!

FAQs
How is this different from other organizing services?
Most organizers focus on making spaces look perfect. I focus on making them work with you. My background in special education means I understand that everyone’s brain processes differently, and I create systems that match how you actually think and move through your space. And I teach you how to maintain them independently!
Do I have to get rid of everything?
Absolutely not. While we’ll certainly declutter items that no longer serve you, I respect your attachment to belongings and their stories. We’ll find ways to organize and display items that matter to you in functional ways.
What if I have ADHD/autism/other neurodivergent traits?
That’s actually my specialty! I’m neurodivergent-identifying myself and have extensive experience creating systems for different learning styles and brains. I understand things like executive function challenges and sensory needs, as well as how to support learning new systems and skills.
I’m embarrassed about the state of my space. Will you judge me?
Never. I understand that spaces get cluttered for complex reasons—trauma, life transitions, neurodivergence, or simply being too busy living life to organize it. I’m here to help. Inviting a stranger into your home is a huge offer of vulnerability and trust. Even considering it is a major step!
How do I know if the systems will actually stick?
Because we build them specifically for you. Instead of imposing generic solutions, we work together to understand how you naturally move through your space and create systems that support those patterns. This is a process that may take time and some trial and error as we uncover your habits and needs together.
